Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Application Systems Analyst

Conducts Guidewire application development, configuration and integration using Guidewire Claims Certification skills and prior experience to perform the Guidewire-specific coding and unit testing needed to migrate, enhance or develop new system functionalities.

  • Uses Guidewire configuration to build user interfaces using PCF, writing business rules, add new Coverages in Line of business Model and new business entities with data model changes to provide feasible IT solutions for complex business needs enabling users to manage the application and business information

  • Provides flexibility to transform and transfer of business data between Claims, vendor and other downstream systems by applying skillset on Guidewire integration mechanisms – Messaging, Integration APIs, and Web services, Custom Batch Processing.

  • Manage sending and receiving of business files with external vendors using secure file transfer Protocol mechanism and writing business logic using Visual Basic Scripting with chilkat libraries.

  • Uses Guidewire and Image Right products, leverage and customize the integration systems enabling flexible design solutions for management of documents in Content Management System.

  • Provides technical data management capabilities with configuring (SSIS) SQL Server Integration Services packages in SQL Server Batch Jobs to ensure data flows accurately through our reporting data warehouse and reporting functions.

  • Uses Guidewire Server Tools to perform diagnosis and health check of code, application and database including database consistency checks, caching, and work queues configuration.

  • Provides Guidewire production support by utilizing Guidewire Claim Center 5.0 certification and, prior operational and technical problem solving skills for monitoring and triaging production issues and incidents, including data analysis, code analysis and problem resolution.

  • Perform WebSphere operational tasks including clustering, creating data sources, queues, connection factories, configuring shared libraries and application installations for Guidewire and integration applications to support development, release and maintenance of applications in development and test environments.       

The minimum educational requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Technology, or related discipline and 6 years of experience in any suitable occupation involving computer systems analysis or development in the Property and Casualty insurance industry.  Experience must also include the following:

  • Guidewire Functional Certification in at least Claim Center 5.0

  • At least one large company implementation of Guidewire ClaimCenter integration with Image Right Content Management System.

  • Multiple Guidewire ClaimCenter configurations including Page Configuration File, Data Model, Line of business model, Business Rules and Guidewire Server Tools.

  • Multiple Guidewire Integrations with planning, architectural design of Guidewire ClaimCenter integration with internal and external systems including Messaging, Webservices, Custom Batch Processing and Integration APIs.

  • Experience in Visual Basic Scripting in Chilkat, SSIS packages and SQL Server Batch Processing.

  • Prior Websphere configuration experience setting up environments for new and existing applications involving Clustering, JMS setup, Queues, Connection Factories, Certificates and application installations.

RATE OF PAY: $123,840
