Job Summary:

This position will provide team leadership to assigned employees who are responsible for day to day underwriting and agency management support for both Commercial and Contract Surety Bonds. As the supervisor, this individual will work as part of an overall team to support the achievement of annual business goals. This position will be responsible for an assigned territory, as well as provide support, direction and assistance to help their direct reports maintain and nurture existing agency relationships, meet and maintain service level commitment to both internal and external customers, analyze financial information, credit reports, contracts, statutes, bond forms, etc, and apply the appropriate use of individual discretionary underwriting authority while adhering to company and department mandated underwriting guidelines and submission processes.  Additional responsibilities include ensuring that department processes are followed and proper documentation is received and assisting in the implementation and testing of bond’s system modification initiatives.  Performs approval, rating and underwriting functions within underwriting authority; serves as notary, technical resource, and trainer to ensure compliance and support profit and production objectives. 

Role Education and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, in business administration, finance or related field is preferred
  • Prior supervision experience
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, training and development expertise
  • Demonstrated collaborative team skills
  • Strong acumen in financial analysis and performance metrics
  • 5-6 years customer service experience - assisting high level producers desired
  • Strong analytical, organizational and oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
