Job Summary:

Main Street America has an opening for the Facilities Maintenance Technician in our Maple Grove, MN Office.  This position is responsible for the maintenance service for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, climate ventilation systems, as well as, other plant services including aesthetic maintenance and safety precautions. Provides maintenance, construction, repair, renovations, and physical relocations for company owned buildings, property and equipment as assigned. Provides 24-hour on-call emergency service. Prepares meeting rooms as needed to include IT equipment support and servicing. Must be able to read and interpret building plans and specifications; and have advanced knowledge of safety practices. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs; lift and move 50 pounds; and work at least 20 feet off the ground. May provide back-up coverage for reception or mail support.

Position Hours: 7:00 am - 3:15 pm, M - F

Requirements (primary only):

  • High school diploma or comparable, progressive experience or specialist training typically obtained through a technical or trade institute preferred (such as safety, OSHA, etc.), or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years progressive work experience in office/facilities-related functions in a professional environment and a fundamental understanding of building systems, such as mechanical, HVAC, lighting, security, electrical, plumbing, etc.  Certificate in data/voice wiring  preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively on a team.
  • Proficiency and proven skill in use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and project budgeting.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move heavy items up to 50 pounds; must be able sit, stand, bend, climb ladders, etc. for some work-related tasks.
  • Occasional overtime and/or work outside of standard hours may be required based on business needs.
